The text block is composed of leaves of heavy paper which are brittle and yellowing. Each page is now interleaved with a sheet of archival tissue paper.
Each leaf of the text has monochrome, gelatin silver, positive prints pasted only to the recto of the page, usually in groups of four or more prints, the majorit of which measure 10.8 x 6 cm, in both landscape and portrait orientations.
