Physical Description

Hard back photograph album, half-bound with maroon watered fabric, black leather spine and corners with decorative gold embossing. Gilt edges on the text block.
H. Each leaf is composed of a cardboard backboard overlaid with a thinner card mount on recto and verso, tacked down on the short edges, allowing photographs to be eased out from the long edge. Displays one photographs to a page (each mount aperture sized W. 6 x 4 ½ inch). 6 loose prints were placed at the back of the album, now placed in polyester sleeves and laid on top of the album within the archives box.
Good condition, some foxing to the leaves thorughout. Top and tail of the spine is bumped and fragile with some loss to the leather.

The photographic prints are all monochrome, gelatin silver, half plate contact prints, with some fading to the images but otherwise in good condition.
34 photographic prnts, 17 empty apertures with AJBW titles on, 7 empty apertures with no titles which therefore it may be assumed were never filled originally.
