Scope and Contents
Daily account of the 1933 Troy excavations written in diary format. Begins with AJBW's journey from Victoria station, London, to Constantinople (Istanbul), where he visited msueums for two days. At Troy, beginning 14 May, AJBW had a tour of the site from Blegen and made observations on the walls and stratigrphy. Then from May 15th to 4 June, AJBW kept excavation notes with measurements, pottery notes and sketch plans. At the back, notes of expenses, a concordance of Troy and Helladic phases and a list of photographs taken during the dig.
