Inscribed on the v. of front board, 'A. J. B. Wace. British School. Athens 1003. Notebook 6'.
Notes on the topography of Alexandria, summarising Strabo, with 2 hand drawn copies of plans of the city pasted in at f.1r and f.2r.
Notes on bibliographical references of comments by authors in antiquity of sites in Skiathos and Skopelos, Towns of Magnetes (Thessalian Magnesia). Also, Wace's own notes on Byzantine ruins, Modern villages of Thessaly, lists of individuals of note associated with Thessaly in antiquity.
1 insert of a hand drawn copy on drafting linen, of Leake's (?) map of Volos harbour with contour lines.
The notebook was created during Wace's time as a student at the British School at Athens (1902-1903).

Buff-coloured waxed cloth cover with a number 6 written in black ink on spine and front cover, text block of lined paper, handwritten in ink and pencil, 23 x 18cm.
Foliated by AJBW, ff. 80 (including unfoliated first leaf)
1 insert: hand drawn map in ink, found between front board and front fly leaf
The cover has surface, ingrained dirt but the volume is in overall sound, good condition.
