Scope and Contents

The collection covers much of Rowe's career and includes job applications, notes, diaries, copies of lectures and copies of his publications. There are also copies of his will and codicils and obituaries.

Biographical / Historical

Born in 1897, Rowe attended Marlborough College before coming up to Trinity College, Cambridge in 1919 after war service. He took the Economics Tripos (war degree). He went on to be a research student at the London School of Economics (LSE) before being appointed Cassel Lecturer in Commerce in the University of London. He was subsequently appointed to a University Readership. In 1934 he was elected to a Fellowship and Lectureship in Economics at Pembroke College. He was later Secretary of the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics.
