Scope and Contents
Manuscript diary written on Browne's journey from Teheran [Tehran, Iran] to Shiraz [Iran] 25 November 1887-6 April 1888, being a continuation of GBR/1058/BRO/1/1/3. The volume also contains letters, notes, drawings, telegrams and samples of plants which he collected locally and pressed between pages. Includes an undated autograph letter from ?Farhād Mīrzā Moʿtamad-Al-Dawla to Nawab Mirza Hasan Ali Khan; agreement with muleteers for hire of animals from Teheran [Tehran] to Isfahan; farewell letter from Aka Muhammed Hasan Khan Kashka'i (6 February 1888); letter from Isa Khan (22 February 1888) [water damaged]; agreement for the hire of mules from Isfahan to Shiraz; and pressed plants.

The notebook was bound by Messrs. Cox and Allen on 29 May 1925. This binding is believed to have been carried out at the request of E. G. Browne.

Some of the plant samples have been removed from the volume and are stored separately. One page still has the plants attached as they have been sewn into the page.
