E. G. Browne's diaries 1 and 5, 1887-08 - 1888-10-10
Scope and Contents
The first and fifth part of the diaries written by Browne. This volume consists of four notebooks. The first two contain notes in preparation for his journey to Persia dated August 1887 including lists of requisites, lists of names, places and their distances from each other, drawings, poetry and various miscellaneous notes and sketches made at different times.
The third narrates Browne's journey from Trabzon or Trebizonde in Turkey to Tehran where the first part of his journey ended. The fourth contains a description of his journey back to England.

The 4 notebooks were bound together by Messrs. Cox and Allen on 29 May 1925. This binding is believed to have been carried out at the request of E. G. Browne.
