The diaries for 1945 are very much written with an eye for publication. The early diaries concern Storrs's tour of Egypt, Libya, Eritrea, Ethiopia (Abyssinia) and Sudan. In March he toured Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq and India, and this was followed until May with travels in India, Ceylonn (Sri Lanka), Egypt and Italy. In November he toured Germany for the Admiralty and gives accounts of post-war Germany. Conversations with those he met are recorded throughout.
