Scope and Contents

From the Fonds:

The papers cover Storrs's early life as well as his civil service career in Egypt, Jerusalem, Cyprus and Nothern Rhodesia. There is extensive correspondence with leading political figures as well as reports and government papers. There is also an extensive series of diaries covering the period 1934-1955 which detail daily activities and significant events.

A series of records were lost when Government House in Cyprus was destroyed in riots in 1931. The losses included copies of Storrs's war diaries, correspondence with Kitchener and some records relating to Jerusalem.
