Letters relating to the admission of Charles Gray to Pembroke College. The first letter confirms that Charles Gray is well qualified for admission at Pembroke. The next two are written by Charles Gray, the first of which confirms his decision to enter Pembroke College. In the second letter he enclosed his cheque for the caution money and outlines his background, namely his age, father and place of birth.

Biographical / Historical
Charles Wing Gray, born in Chelmsford, Essex in 1846, was admitted to Pembroke on 31st August 1871. He was the son of Charles Gray, a lawyer. He was the M.P. for Maldon from 1892-1895. He died on 23rd November 1920 in Halstead, Essex.
