Foundation by Richard Nelson of a Bible-clerkship, 1506-09-04
Scope and Contents
In return for a gift of 40 marks, Nelson had the right to nominate to the office of Bibliotista 'unus honestus scolaris'. Nelson was to fill each vacancy during his lifetimes and after his death the Master and Fellow would appoint someone born in Londisdale, or in Lancashire, Yorkshire or Westmorland, provided that such a person can be found in the University, who must be able to read and to sing pleasantly and well.
