Scope and Contents

The writer reminds Corrie that John's surname is Brame and he was born in Essex in 1817. He then states that he will know from his brother that his current engagement might prove permanent for which he would be glad adding that the church is well attended, has a Sunday school and few Dissenters. He continues at length to describe his life in the parish believing that he is well respected but finds that Leicestershire clergy are apathetic to the Irish Church and the urgent need to partition Parliament about it. In response to this he and others formed the Northamptonshire petition with 272 signatures and he hopes that the bill will not be passed. He concludes by hoping to receive an account of Corries "present doings", assuming him to be a spectator only.
