Biographical / Historical

Officially, Joe White and Patrick were co-presidents last year, but they actually had very little practical involvement with the society. Joe Harper ran everything and was very helpful when the 2013-2014 co-presidents (Georgina and Angharad) started. Hence the decision to invite him to dinner - it's traditional for the co-presidents to pick a Shirley member to take along, either as moral support or just to make a four at the table. Preferably, it would be someone who's a fan of the author's writing or who's made some special contribution to the society
