Archway in wall between Hobson's and Chapel, 1959-10-27
Scope and Contents
The 'top wall' above stone string course and pediment were added in 1946 (wall decaying on top). The Wall originally ran from north-west corner of chapel: was moved flush with south-east corner when Hobson's was built in 1932 then pulled down again a few months later and set back 18" to break this flat line. Only the archway is old probably 18th century. The door visible through arch is the door of Gostlin House demolished 1965 [note by S. Aston].
