Immediate Source of Acquisition
The first original photograph (a) probably belonged to F. Johnson; he and Nichols are the only men to appear in all three of the photographs (1876,1877,1878). Digital copy was sent to the Archive by Herb Bate, October 2013. Mounted original (c) received from John Little's College rooms via Peter Wothers on 17 October 2016, and most likely had been F.P. Nichols's copy: the other two received with this from the same source were re-framed in the same manner and backed with original thin wooden boards which bore labels marked up for Nichols.
