John Shakeshaft was born on 9 December 1929 in Chelmsford, Essex, and died in John Shakeshaft 1929-2015. John was elected to the Fellowship in 1961; he served as College Librarian from 1962-2004 and President 1990-3. He became an Emeritus Fellow in 1997.
