On 4 May 1714, Newton executed a release of an annuity and all arrears owed to him by St Catharine's College.

On 1 May 1695, Isaac Newton had paid £25 for the building of a new chapel at St Catharine's in return for an annuity of 50 shillings a year during his lifetime. However, the annuity was never paid, which led to Newton signing the release in 1714.
