The original playing field was bought in 1893. In 1914 a further piece was added. In 1931 the Amalgamated Clubs bought a further piece of adjoining land and in 1948 the College bought 115 Grantchester Meadows and a part of the garden was incorporated into the playing field. In 1950 a piece of land at the rear of 117 Grantchester Meadows was bought and incorporated into the playing field.
