Biographical / Historical
Francis Barry Roberts was a member of the first intake of Selwyn in 1882. He had colours for Cricket and Athletics (long jump in 1885 and 1886). He was awarded his BA in 1886 and was ordained Deacon in 1887 and became Curate of Worthenbury, Flintshire 1887-1894; gained his MA in 1890 and then became Vicar of Bettisfield, 1895-1921. He died on 20 December 1934. He was unmarried.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
The portrait had been damaged with a severe tear towards the bottom; it received conservation repair from Melvin Jefferson, October 2005

Transferred by Mr Hamer in January 1999. His father was a friend of Barry Roberts. See correspondence re Roberts with photograph of items in Accessions file.

General
Brass plaque and two medals mentioned in initial letter were finally located among College Silver Collection, November 2006. Brass plaque has been relocated, Summer 2015 but still need to identify 2 other medals
