Scope and Contents
Five versions of the memoir, "Reminiscences of Selwyn College 1938-1950, seen from 1993 by Leonard Forster". These include one handwritten copy, one draft version with corrections, one better copy, proof-read by Nicholas Cranfield, a further good copy and a smaller-sized version which had been sent by Mr Bryan for use in the College History; The memoir includes descriptions of Fellows at Selwyn, the College routine before and after the second world war, rationing and the first May Ball in 1948:; also 2 bound copies of Forster's lectures: Poetry of significant nonsense - an inaugural lecture (1962) and The man who wanted to know everything - the 1980 Bithell Memorial lecture (1981)

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Two typescripts were transferred to the Archives by Canon John Sweet in March 2005 (2004-05/31); a third one was found in the Archives, the smaller sized version (A5) was subsequently transferred by the Librarian, Sarah Stamford from the Library and the handwritten copy was transferred by William Brock in February 2008 (2007-08/21); published lectures transferred by Forster's daughter, Catherine Hilliard in 2024
