Biographical / Historical

Edward Coleridge was educated at Oxford, graduating MA in 1825. He became a Tutor and Fellow of Eton College and was appointed Vicar of Maple-Durham in 1862. He was the uncle of John Coleridge Patteson, Bishop of Melanesia.

Various inscriptions as follows: to Rev. E Coleridge from A Hope in 1846, then passed by Coleridge to his wife in 1882 before being given to Selwyn College by MC Coleridge in 1895
