Early matriculation photographs, 1910 - 1930
Scope and Contents
This is the main college collection of matriculation or freshers photographs and begins with the 1910 photograph but it is not a complete sequence; the latter was acquired in 2022 whereas previously the earliest photo in the main collection had been 1913. There is another copy of the 1910 photo in the McWatters collection at SEPH/5/MCW (album no.1) which had been considered the earliest surviving photo.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
The 1913 photograph was damaged and subsequently broke into two pieces (July 2010). It was repaired by the College conservator, Edward Cheeseman (August 2012).

Existence and Location of Copies
There are now copies available of most of the individual matriculation photographs in SEPH/7. There are futher copies of the 1930 photo in the Wooler collection at SEPP/WOOLER.
