Traditional College balls were held from 1942 (though the first was organised by the RAF) but recently the trend has been to hold a Snowball instead with the first Snowball held in the 1980s, maybe in 1985 but probably in December 1987. However to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the College a special May Ball was held on 21st June 2008 and subsequent May balls have continued to be held in most years.
