Scope and Contents

Selwyn Signal was a regular publication for college staff which started in 1998 as Selwyn Staff News and continued as Selwyn Signal with college news and details of staff arriving and leaving, generally issued three times each year. It was issued in paper form between1998-2004 and included announcements of the arrivals of staff such as Sally Clayson (1998) and the new Master, Richard Bowring (2000) as well as a feature on the new Porters Lodge, Easter 2001. There was a gap between 2004-6 but then it was revived from 2007-2009 primarly as a means of providing staff with important information and details of legislation. A further gap followed until the publication was resurrected in electronic format in September 2013 as a bi-monthly publication starting with a feature on the new Master, Roger Mosey. Other issues included one on the centenary of outbreak of First World War in 1914 (July/August 2014). There was a subsequent introduction of an additional publication, Selwyn Snippets, in January 2016 which was a brief bulletin of news and these tended to be issued alternately with the Signal for another year or so. Selected issues post 2013 have been catalogued separately.

No further regular staff newsletters were issued until the Bursar's updates during the Pandemic.
