Booklet written by Peter Grubb, E Anne Stow, and S Max Walters and published by the Department of Plant Sciences (formerly the School of Botany) to celebrate the centenary of the Botany School building and the life and work of Harry Marshall Ward [1854-1906, Professor of Botany, also President of the Cambridge Philosophical Society 1904].
The booklet includes a biography of Harry Marshall Ward; also a section on various Cambridge Botany buildings, including detail of the history of the New Museums site and the presence of the Cambridge Philosophical Society there; also sections on various botanical disciplines and Cambridge figures active in those areas, many of whom were also members of the Cambridge Philosophical Society. Illustrated throughout, chiefly in black and white, including a photograph of Harry Marshall Ward.
