Scope and Contents
1) Letter to J W Lubbock from Thomas Tonkins, 17 December 1829, in reply to Lubbock’s letter to Tonkins of 10 November; discusses the subject of flooding on the river Neva and the population of Moscow and St Petersburg, referring to previous flooding in 1824 and a bill of mortality for Moscow;
2) Letter from David Brewster to James Thomson, 16 September 1843, on the threat to Brewster’s job because of the Free Church Movement;
3) Letter from James D Forbes to James Thomson, 14 April 1845, from Edinburgh, concerning Thomson’s son.
