‘Dinner (Dr Evans)’. File contains correspondence and papers concerning arrangements for the sesquicentenary dinner held on 3 November 1969, including seating arrangements, costs, venue, guests, publicity etc, and minutes of a meeting of the 1969 Committee (see also CPS 4/5) concerning publicity. File comprises chiefly correspondence of Jack Ratcliffe (President), also: draft menu, guest list, typescript of part of the President’s speech given at the dinner, and table plan. The file also contains a typescript list of major Cambridge Philosophical Society dinners 1919-38, giving date, venue, number present and whether guests were present.
