Scope and Contents

Miscellany of papers from early Transactions and Proceedings, including uncut papers and unbound papers, reprints and proofs. The file contains:
Papers from Transactions by William Whewell, William Mandell, John Okes, J S Henslow (on the geology of Anglesey) and Mr Hailstone, together with various plates, circa 1825 to circa 1830;
Proof prints for plates 17 and 18 of Transactions Vol. 4, 1831, being illustrations for J S Henslow, ‘On the Examination of a Hybrid Digitalis’;
Offprint of William Hopkins, ‘On the Motion of Glaciers’, from Transactions Vol. 8 Part 1, 1844, flyleaf inscribed ‘Professor Miller from the Author’;
Proceedings Vol. 1 Part 5: originally produced 1866, this is a reprint of 1956, and a note on the cover reads ‘Out of print’. Contains articles and papers dated 1847-48 by Stokes, Airy, Ellis and De Morgan;
Offprint of G G Stokes, ‘On the Theory of Oscillatory Waves’, from Transactions Vol 8 Part 4, 1847 (read 1 March 1847);
