Scope and Contents

Meetings recorded in this volume were held variously at the Cavendish Laboratory; the Chemical Laboratory; the Optical Lecture Room; the Observatory; the School of Agriculture; the New Medical School; the Botany School; the Comparative Anatomy Lecture Room; the University Botanical Laboratory; and the Engineering Laboratory.
5 June 1899: special meeting held at the Cavendish Laboratory for the presentation of papers to be published in a volume commemorating Sir George Stokes’ long association with the Society;
17 February 1914: special meeting at which Dr Max Wolf showed slides of recent work at Heidelberg on the Nebulae and their Spectra;
18 May 1914: a printed list of honorary members, including Max Planck, elected at the meeting of that date is tipped in;
23 February 1920: a typed list of ‘Exhibits’ is tipped in.
