Scope and Contents

9 February 1857: bye-laws pasted in, initialled and confirmed by George Paget;
25 February 1861: note of the British Association meeting to be held in Cambridge in the summer of 1862;
10 November 1862: a letter from the Duke of Devonshire, Chatsworth, 8 November 1862, accepting the Society’s invitation ‘to succeed the lamented Prince Consort as Patron’ is tipped in;
5 February 1866: special general meeting agrees to affix the Society’s seal to a deed assigning the lease from St John’s College to the Society for 40 years from Michaelmas 1860 of the house and premises on All Saints Passage to Mr Carpenter of Post Office Terrace for £1200.
