'Copies of the Charter, Laws, Lease &c of the Cambridge Philosophical Society', 1832 - 1847
Scope and Contents
Volume largely blank but contains the following:
1) Printed copy of the charter and bye-laws of the Society [as at 1832?];
2) Printed copy of the laws and bye-laws [as at 1846?]
3) Handwritten copy of the ‘Lease of the Society’s House’, ie a lease from St John’s College for forty years (1846-86), on payment of £220 and a yearly rent of £20, of the Society’s house on All Saints Passage, comprising 9 pages, covering rights of way, drains and sewers, rates and taxes, maintenance, access, fire insurance, and restrictions (eg no keeping of ‘hogs, boars, sows, pigs or other offensive cattle’), 1847.
