Copper plates: Box 8
Scope and Contents
Large collection of copper plates, some mounted on wooden blocks, from which illustrations were made for various publications of the Cambridge Philosophical Society (chiefly Biological Reviews, also some for Proceedings). Several sets were originally contained in yellow Kodak boxes, one of which was labelled ‘East Midland Engravers Ltd, Bury St Edmunds’, and the original boxes contaning CPS 10/3/6a/1-4 bore the date 1969.
Conditions Governing Use
4 plates wrapped in paper. 3 wrappings are labelled ’42 (4)’. The remaining wrapping is not labelled but the wrapping itself is an offprint of Biological Reviews Vol 42 No 4 Plates 1-5. The illustrations include ammonites [?] and seashells [?] but these do not appear to be included in the illustrations in the offprint.
