Scope and Contents
The base map is is a composite of OS six-inch sheets lancashire 106 & 113 (the latter published in 1850). Overlain in coloured ink are railway routes and stations, updated to at least 1864. In pencil are two bores under the Mersey, dated 1868 and 1869, with connecting lines. A tramway system has been drawn in great detail, including passing loops, and there is a detailed written description of each route, possibly associated with one of the Liverpool Tramway Acts of 1870-72.
