In this collection, the Charles Close Society has accumulated a wealth of diverse materials, now surplus to the requirements of Ordnance Survey itself, and outside the scope of (or duplicate to) what is accepted by The National Archives. The Charles Close Society Archives is available for consultation by researchers in the Map Room at Cambridge University Library. Appointments for access should be made in advance by contacting the Head of the Map Department, Anne Taylor (maps@lib.cam.ac.uk).
