Scope and Contents From the Fonds:

These consist of records of the Eastern Regional Council of the United Nations Association, and of Branches at Braintree, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Saffron Walden, Romford and Havering. The Chelmsford Branch minutes go back to 1934, when it was a branch of the League of Nations Union. The papers also include one minute book (1934 39) of the East Anglian District Council of the League of Nations Union.

Formed at a public meeting 6 Feb 1947, following meetings of a provisional committee. In February 1954 it was decided to wind up the Branch, due to lack of support. It was revived at a meeting of 6 May 1964 (apparently, minutes not extant).
