Papers dealing with the development and use of a `New Sign Language' (later `Systematic Sign Language') for the deaf, aimed in particular at the teaching of children with hearing and speech problems. It was begun in 1934 by Sir Richard Paget (1869-1955) and developed by his widow, Grace Paget, in collaboration with Dr Pierre Gorman after Sir Richard's death.
