Most of the correspondence is with Alix Meynell. Mulvey's letters include research notes made by her, and enclose some earlier letters. These include letters to Meynell from Annabel Farjeon (undated), Ross Nichols (1951), Logan Pearsall Smith (1932) and Hugh Trevor-Roper (1965) . Most of Mulvey's letters are numbered 1-51 and an index by Alix Meynell to their contents is at the beginning of the sequence Sylvia Mulvey was employed by Meynell to do research for the book.
