Scope and Contents

A volume of arrangements of music for instruments, apparently by George Pigott, about whom little is known. Pigott published a few instrumental arrangements, mostly in London, between c.1830 and 1849. —1 volume, in the same hand throughout, music written from both front and back of the volume. Inside front board, trade label of 'I.C. Flack, Music Binder, No. 40 Maiden Lane, Cov[en]t Gard[e]n', who presumably supplied the volume, with printed staves. [fo. 1] C.J. Hirscher[?], Military concerto in score. Inscribed 'Compd [composed?] Nov. 18. 1806 — Copied Nov. 1809'. [fo. 9v] March. [fo. 22] Divertimento for the horn and pianoforte. At end 'Composed for Madama Boones concert in 1814. The first 8 bars of Polacca by Tully'. [fo. 24] Purcells Trios No 1. From back: [fo. 60v] G. Pigott, Septett adapted from Mozarts piano forte works. [fo. 56] Minuetto allegretto. [fo. 53v] Allegretto. Aria con variazione. [fo. 47v] G.
