Scope and Contents
Collection of 480 tunes for metrical psalms and hymns. Many tunes named with composer. Several anthems, words and music. Anthems by 6th Earl of Kellie (1732-81) ('The Resurrection'), William Mason (1725-97) ('Lord of all pow'r and might'), Harwood ('The dying Christian to his soul'), Benedetto Marcello (1686-1739) ('O Lord our Governor'; 'Give ear unto me'), James Kent (1700-76) ('Hear, hear my pray'r'), John 'Christmas' Beckwith (1750-1809) ('I will sing unto the Lord'), Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) ('O how secure and blest are they').
