The volume is signed 'John Archer' and inscribed 'John Archer his booke witnesse Thomas Mounteneys'. The front of volume contains a 'A treatise upon heaven', circa 17th century, written in two or possibly three different hands, which do not resemble that used by John Archer for his signature. From the back of the volume, pp. 1-90, runs 'Mr. Jeffery his sermons upon the 84 Psalme prached [sic] at Trinity Church in Cambridge Anno Dom: 1619', and pp. 91-96 (unnumbered), 'Mr. Jeffery upon Matthew: 1 chap 1 verse:', probably incomplete, in a hand that does not seem to be Archer's.
