Scope and Contents
Undated typescript made by Powys' wife Alyse Gregory of 62 letters to his brothers John Cowper Powys (32 letters, 1914-1937) and A.R. (Bertie) Powys (13, 1900-1935), his sisters Philippa Powys (8, 1915-1934) and Gertrude Powys (8, 1916-1937), and H. Rivers Pollock (1, 1927). The letters are annotated by Alyse Gregory and John Cowper Powys. Gregory selected letters which she thought important and worthy of publication, detailing the major events in Powys' life. Many of the original letters were subsequently destroyed.
