Thomas McKitterick: Papers relating to his service with the Intelligence Corps in the Eastern Mediterranean, 1942-45

 Fonds
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.8683

Scope and Contents

The collection is divided into two principal sections. The first part is comprised of personal papers relating to McKitterick's career, 1942-1945, and includes requests for transfer, administrative problems with his pay, and some of his confidential reports on individuals considered for special missions. The second section comprises a run of the PICME-produced 'Balkan Political Intelligence Notes' and its successor the 'Balkan Political Review'. These regular briefings for military and political personnel provide an insight into changing British perceptions of the forces and characters that shaped the politics of Greece, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Albania, and Turkey during the late years of the war.
