Scope and Contents
The manuscripts of the travel diaries of Elizabeth Bide Dampier and Thomas William Dampier Bide, of Kingston Manor, Yeovil. Some volumes written as accounts, rather than diary entries. Includes two edited typewritten transcription of some diaries, made by Edith H. Whetham, one of which also present in formally printed copy (as 'Travel Diaries from Kingston Manor, Yeovil, 1882-1886').
Also present is a Japanese phrase book with accounts & lists of purchases sent home; a bundle of loose items, mostly bills and lists of purchases; and a notebook which appears to contain notes for a talk on a previous trip, with notes of details of image slides.
