Edward Blore: Letters to him

 Fonds
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.8170

Scope and Contents

This group of letters, written (with two exceptions) to Edward Blore by prominent contemporaries, was probably preserved primarily as an autograph collection. It covers the period between 1828 and 1869, but most of the letters predate Blore's retirement from his architectural practice in 1849, and throw light on his work in the design, building and restoration of royal palaces, cathedrals and churches, and country houses.
