Correspondence and papers of Ian Methven Carlisle, September 1945-December 1950 (mostly after his departure from Germany), comprising letters to him principally from his former colleagues H.W. Davis and T.J. Leonard; minutes of committees and working parties on textbook production, comprising British representatives and German, civil servants, academics and publishers; memoranda and reports on the activities of the Textbook Section and the progress of its work; official circulars to textbook publishers; statistics on textbook production; background material for conferences of historians; and publishers’ leaflets.
Correspondents include: Bertha L. Bracey, Hedley W. Davis, Georg Eckert (1912-1974), Hammerich & Lesser Verlag (Hamburg publishers), F.C. Kalund-Jorgensen, Komet-Verlag (Dusseldorf publishers), T.J. Leonard, B. Luxton, A. Mackenzie Smith, R.T. Percival, and Baron Vansittart (1881-1957).
