Immediate Source of Acquisition
Purchased by Cambridge University Library at Sotheby's on 14 June 1971, lot 1399. Many of these documents had formerly been owned by Sir Thomas Phillipps, having been acquired by him at the sale in 1866 of autograph letters and other material from the collections of the Norfolk antiquary Sir John Fenn (1739-94), a graduate of the University.
