Immediate Source of Acquisition

MSS.Add.6907-6908, and 6910-6913 were the originally the property of Francis Fane Lambarde (1868-1948), Brigadier General and antiquary. MS.Add.6909 belonged to S.S. Smythe, lord chief baron, and later to F.F. Lambarde. MS.Add.6912 belonged to the Lambarde family from at least 1634.

Two letters from Ralph Griffin removed from MS.Add.6910 and a letter from W. P. Hills removed from MS.Add.6912 are now part of MS.Add.7339.
