Scope and Contents
A collection of transcripts of papers and documents connected with the Act of Uniformity of 1662 which are in the repository of the House of Lords, mostly consisting of rejected provisos. There is a copy of the Act as passed at fo. 46. fo. 8: letter from William O. Hewlett to Charles Anthony Swainson, 8 Apr. 1875; extract of letter from the unidentified scribe, detailing methods of transcription; notes by Swainson; and copy of a letter from J. H. Pulman to A. C. Tait, archbishop of Canterbury, 26 Jan. 1874, with marginal note by Hewlett.
