 Fonds
Reference Code: GBR/0115/RCS/RCMS 416

Content Description

Comprises six travel diaries and a small collection of photographs. The provenance of the collection is unknown. The diaries were in the estate of the late Dr Susan Palmer (died 2022). There is no obvious connection to the Palmer family, and the diaries do not appear to relate to each:
- item 1 in this collection is a private journal dating from the mid-19th century;
- items 2 and 3 are diaries of travels to Europe by an unidentified married couple;
- items 4 to 7 were assembled by J.W. Thompson of Oak Bank, Burnley, and document travels to South Asia before the First World War.
