Biographical / Historical
George Hudson joined the Church Army in 1913 and was confirmed as a lay evangelist in 1914 by the Bishop of London. He enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery at the beginning of the First World War and subsequently deployed to France. He suffered a severe hand injury, possibly due to an accident, and was invalided out of the Army. Hudson subsequently returned to France as a Church Army official. He worked for the Manchester City Mission and was involved with the Federation of Independent Evangelical Churches, serving as Vice President of the Lancashire Auxiliary and Fraternal. He died in 1954 at age 65.
